Esprit CAM Progammer

We are hiring an experienced CAM Programmer that will take engineering drawings from the Mechanical Design Engineers and write programs in Esprit Edge (we also have MasterCAM) for Okuma 10 & 10 SS and Okuma 12 with OSB 300L Control (Okuma 10SS and 12 running with sub-spindle live tooling) and HAAS Lathe and Mill. Our machines are 3-Axis, 4-Axis and 5-Axis and Lathes have bar feeders.

The programmer will write, edit or change programs to ensure parts are examined for most efficient manufacturability. This includes recommendations for best tooling. This role is expected to resolve and problem solve any issues between the engineering drawings and the machine shop.

• Examine Engineering drawings and ensure manufacturability and practical machining. Provide recommendations for improvement.
• Create (write), edit or change programs that are efficient and provide best manufacturability and tooling path for each CNC Machine.
• Assist with CNC Machine Programming edits and set ups for new parts / jobs when needed.
• Inspect complete parts for accuracy.
  Recommend and provide best tooling and part mounting for each part.
• Train operators in setting up and operating new parts.

Required experience & qualifications:

• Proficiency in Esprit Edge CAD/CAM software to generate G-code for Okuma, Haas.
• Strong background and proficiency in reading and programming SolidWorks Engineering files from the Mechanical Design Engineers.
• 3-5 years experience as a CNC programmer; with proven experience with CNC machinist with strong set up experience.
• Must be able to program CNC Milling and Lathe machines, Okuma and HAAS. We have 2-Axis, 3-Axis and 4-Axis CNC Mill and Lathe machines, making simple pieces out of Aluminum and Stainless Steel.
• Experience with 3D is preferred.
• OSHA 10-hour minimum (30-hour preferred)

Hours, compensation and benefits:

Full-time, on-site, salaried position: Monday through Friday, 7am to 4pm, with some flexibility to shift to first or second shift and some weekends, depending on production demands.

Competitive Salary will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.
