The Gulf Coast Village Campus is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare subsidiary of the Volunteers of America parent organization.

About the job:

Provides and assists participants with activities of daily living, restoration and supportive care necessary to the preservation of the home environment.

Schedule: PRN - on Call

Salary: $17/hour for HHA or $18/hour for C.N.A

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 75-hour FL Home Health Aide Certificate OR active FL Certified Nursing Assistant, Current BLS CPR

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of the 75-hour Home Health Aide Certification, or a diploma as a Home Health Aide through an approved post-secondary school required.
• Experience: A minimum of one year’s experience in working with the frail or elderly population required.
• Skills and Knowledges: Know principles, practice standards and techniques of a Home Health Aide. How to use and maintain medical equipment. Identifying and recommending problem resolution.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation.
• Work independently with minimum supervision, communicate clearly and effectively.
• 75-hour FL Home Health Aide Certificate OR active FL Certified Nursing Assistant, Current BLS CPR - Required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist participants with personal hygiene, in and out of bed, exercised prescribed, use of bathroom and medication ordinarily self-administered.
• Prepare and assist participants with meals.
• Take vitals, change colostomy bags, change non-sterile dressing and non-sterile bowl and bladder hygiene care for specific participants.
• Performs directed household services.
• Reports changes in participants conditions and needs to the In-Home Supervisor; completes appropriate documents of services
• Maintains confidentiality and a safe working environment.
• Handles potentially infection specimens with appropriate biohazard precautions and practices.
• Performs other duties as required or requested.
