We are currently seeking a Sous Chef who understands that leadership extends beyond execution.

At ALMA, the Sous Chef plays a critical role in protecting the standards, culture, and rhythm of the kitchen while supporting Chef Coton’s culinary vision. This role requires strong technical ability, organization, communication, leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.

Every plate contributes to the emotional experience of the guest.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support Chef Coton and kitchen leadership in maintaining culinary standards and execution
• Lead and supervise kitchen operations during service
• Coach, develop, and support cooks while fostering professionalism and accountability
• Maintain consistency in recipes, preparation methods, and plating standards
• Support daily kitchen organization, prep execution, and service readiness
• Monitor food quality, timing, and presentation throughout service
• Communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house teams to support operational flow
• Assist with inventory, ordering, food cost controls, and waste management
• Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and food safety standards
• Support opening, closing, administrative, and operational responsibilities
• Protect the culture, energy, and standards of the kitchen at all times

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

• Previous Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or culinary leadership experience preferred
• Strong culinary technique and operational knowledge
• Experience in high-volume and/or upscale dining environments
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and maintain composure during service
• Passion for hospitality, food quality, and team development
• Open availability preferred, including nights, weekends, and holidays
