Professional Surveyor (PSM / SIT)
Role Overview Snelgrove Surveying & Mapping, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) or a Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) to join our growing team. You will lead boundary, topographic, and construction surveys while ensuring all deliverables meet Florida Standards of Practice. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects ranging from municipal infrastructure to large-scale federal mapping. Key Responsibilities Project Oversight: Manage survey projects from initial research through final platting or mapping. Technical Excellence: Perform boundary calculations, legal description interpretations, and topographic data analysis. Quality Control: Review and certify survey maps, sketches, and reports for accuracy and compliance with Florida Administrative Code 5J-17. Field-to-Office Coordination: Mentor field crews on data collection best practices and coordinate with CADD Technicians for final drafting. Client Relations: Serve as a technical point of contact for engineering firms, state agencies (FDOT/FDEP), and private land owners. Requirements Licensure: Must be a Florida Licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) OR a Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) actively pursuing licensure. Proficiency: Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and GPS/GNSS data processing. Experience: Familiarity with Florida Panhandle land records and regional surveying standards. Attributes: Strong leadership skills, a commitment to precision, and a valid Florida Driver’s License.
