Firetronics is currently hiring an experienced Fire Extinguisher Service Technician to join our growing team!
This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, servicing, testing, and replacement of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality work, understands the importance of fire and life safety, and is committed to providing excellent service to our customers.
Job Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform annual maintenance and 6-year service on portable fire extinguishers.
- Perform extinguisher recharges, hydrostatic testing, and replacements.
- Disassemble extinguishers and inspect components for wear, damage, or defects.
- Replace worn or damaged parts, including tubing, horns, head gaskets, cutter discs, and other components.
- Clean, recharge, and service extinguishers using the appropriate agents and procedures.
- Test extinguishers to ensure they meet applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
- Install fire extinguisher cabinets, brackets, and related equipment.
- Assist with identifying customer needs and supporting the sales of fire extinguishers and related fire protection products.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service while representing Firetronics in the field.
Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One to three years of related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Current Fire Extinguisher Permit preferred.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to customer locations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
New to the industry? We will train the right candidate!
Firetronics will provide training and contracted Fire College admission, lodging, and per diem for qualified candidates working toward their required extinguisher credentials.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Climb and walk stairs.
- Work from ladders.
- Lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
- Work in a variety of commercial and industrial environments.
