About the Chamber
The Mid-America LGBT Chamber of Commerce is a member-driven organization supporting
more than 500 LGBTQ+ and allied businesses across the Kansas City region. Through
advocacy, connection, and business development, the Chamber works to create an inclusive
and thriving economic environment in the region.
Position Overview
The Executive Director serves as the Chamber’s lead operator and ambassador, responsible
for driving membership growth and retention, delivering meaningful value to members, and
ensuring strong day-to-day operations. This role reports to the chamber’s Board of Directors
and manages a small team (1.5 FTE) along with volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
? Collaborate with the board to develop the strategic plan & lead the delivery of its key
priorities providing regular update & progress reports.
? Lead membership growth and retention efforts
? Develop and maintain partnerships and sponsorships
? Represent the Chamber publicly
? Manage operations and ensure fiscal stability
? Supervise and develop staff
? Support an active volunteer base
? Oversee planning for events
Qualifications
Required:
? 3-5 years of experience in non-profit organizations
? Demonstrated commitment to the LGBTQ+ community
? Demonstrated experience in fostering strong relationships across lines of difference
? Demonstrated experience in meeting fundraising or membership goals
? Exceptional communication skills
? Evidence of the ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred:
? Advanced degree in nonprofit management or related field
? Experience in nonprofit or chamber leadership
? Bachelor’s Degree in any field
? Experience working with a Board of Directors
What Success Looks Like
A successful Executive Director fosters ongoing membership growth while retaining existing
members. This is supported by ensuring strong member engagement, effective partnerships,
and smooth organizational operations.
Compensation & Benefits
? The minimum annual salary for this role is $72,000 with potential
performance-based incentives
