Staff Accountant (General Contracting Experience Required)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Accountant to manage all financial aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in construction accounting and preferred expertise in Vista Viewpoint and Procore Pay. This role is essential to ensuring the financial health of our projects, from initial budget creation through final auditing and compliance.

Responsibilities:
The Staff Accountant will collaborate closely with project managers to create and monitor detailed project budgets, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. This position involves a comprehensive analysis of project-related expenses, including labor, materials, and overhead costs, to maintain accurate tracking and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

The role encompasses managing the financial aspects of supplier and subcontractor contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms while actively seeking cost-saving opportunities to enhance project profitability. Daily responsibilities include processing invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests while maintaining accurate financial documentation that adheres to both company policies and industry regulations.

Cash flow forecasting represents a critical component of this position, requiring the development of financial forecasts for current and future projects to ensure sufficient funding and monitor liquidity throughout project lifecycles. The Staff Accountant will maintain meticulous financial records to support both internal and external audits, ensuring all financial activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

The position requires cultivating strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear and timely financial communication that supports collaboration and project efficiency.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in construction company accounting (general contracting-preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proficiency in Procore and Vista Viewpoint is preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction cost accounting principles.
• High attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
