Primary care and internal medicine with some infectious disease support

Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner provides advanced outpatient care to adult patients. This role focuses on primary care and internal medicine with opportunities to support infectious disease management as needed. The provider works collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff to deliver high quality patient centered care.

Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical exams
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
Prescribe and manage medications within Florida scope of practice
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans
Educate patients on disease prevention health maintenance and lifestyle changes
Provide chronic disease management support
Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and follow clinical protocols
Collaborate with physicians and clinical support staff
Support infectious disease care plans under medical direction as needed

Qualifications

Education and Licensure
Masters or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Active unrestricted Florida APRN license
National Nurse Practitioner certification preferred in Family Adult Gerontology or Internal Medicine
DEA registration or ability to obtain

Experience
One to three plus years of outpatient experience preferred
Background in primary care internal medicine or infectious disease strongly preferred
Experience managing chronic conditions in an outpatient setting

Skills
Strong clinical assessment and decision making skills
Excellent communication skills with patients families and care teams
Proficiency with electronic health record systems
Commitment to patient centered evidence based care

Preferred
BLS or ACLS certification
Interest or experience in infectious disease care and patient education
