Occupational Health Nurse

The Occupational Health Nurse provides a variety of occupational health services to Cancer Center team members focusing on regulatory compliance, assists the Cancer Center in hiring and maintaining team members, and provides initial medical assessment, first aid, and referrals for personal and occupational illnesses.

Position Highlights:

• Performs pre-placement health screens which include occupational and personal Medical history, urine drug testing, vision testing, and immunization evaluation.
• Assists Workers Compensation Representative and Occupational Health Supervisor on the follow-up of worker’s compensation cases
• Performs post-accident testing.
• Performs phlebotomy procedures.
• Manages medical surveillance programs by OSHA regulatory compliance.
• Participates in follow-up and assessment post exposures (infectious, chemical, and environmental).
• Provides educational programs for team members.
• Assists with the administration of Center-wide team member vaccination and screening programs such as influenza and TB.
• Participates in cross-functional areas (Environmental Safety and Health, Infection Control, Human Resources).
• Other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum 3 years experience in an Employee or Occupational Health clinic in a hospital or industrial area, Emergency Department, or Intensive Care.
• Workers' Compensation experience including post-injury follow-up, claim management.
• Knowledge of immunizations and protocols for hospital compliance.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with occupational health software system.
• Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in an Employee or Occupational Health clinic in a hospital or industrial area is highly preferred.
  • Experience using an employee health information system.

Credentials and Qualifications:

• BSN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with at least one year of relevant experience or ASN from an ACEN or CCNE accredited institution with 2 years of relevant experience and enrolled to complete BSN from an ACEN or CCNE within 3 years of hire.
• FL RN License.
• BLS Certification.
• COHN or COHN-S Certification preferred.
• 3 years Experience in Employee or Occupational Health.
