Occupational Therapist (School Based)
Embark on a rewarding journey as a School-Based Occupational Therapist in the vibrant community of Pensacola. This role is pivotal in empowering students to excel in their daily activities within an educational framework, offering a chance to make a profound difference in their lives through targeted therapy interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to enhance students' fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and daily living capabilities.
- Lead therapy sessions that focus on exercises to stretch, strengthen, and increase flexibility, aiming to restore joint motion and muscle strength.
- Assist students experiencing developmental delays to achieve independence in tasks such as dressing, toileting, and feeding.
- Address sensory processing and attention challenges to foster better focus and social interactions within the classroom setting.
- Support students with behavioral disorders by teaching effective anger management strategies and coping skills.
- Evaluate and recommend specialized equipment, including wheelchairs and communication aids, tailored to each student’s needs.
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s or Clinical Doctorate).
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to adapt to dynamic environments.
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities.
- Proficient in documentation and report writing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with a positive attitude.
