Pest Control Technician

As a Lawn & Ornamental (L&O) Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining the health and beauty of commercial landscapes, applying your expertise in plant care and attention to detail to deliver superior service to clients.

Responsibilities

• Apply pesticides and fertilizers to turf and ornamental beds using specialized equipment such as Z-Sprayers, manual spreaders, and spray trucks.
• Diagnose and identify common insects, diseases, and weeds, and determine appropriate treatment solutions.
• Mix and handle chemicals accurately, ensuring proper rates and safe practices to prevent cross-contamination.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment for precise application and consistent quality.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas by blowing and cleaning treated surfaces to prevent staining.
• Complete accurate documentation of work performed, including times, products used, rates, and inventory.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and follow all safety protocols during daily operations.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to achieve route goals and uphold company standards.

Qualifications

• Experience identifying local plant species and understanding how environmental factors affect chemical applications.
• BMP Certification and Basic Technician Training required.
• Limited commercial fertilizer applicator license required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs. frequently, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
