Peer Support Supervisor- Orange, Osceola, Seminole
Salary: $60,000

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Peer Support Services Supervisor will act in an administrative, developmental, and supportive role for the peer support services team. They will connect with treatment providers and community resources to ensure collaboration and visibility in the community. The Supervisor will serve as a vital bridge between the team and potential referral sources. Developmental responsibilities include initial and ongoing training and skill building for all staff. The Supervisor will also advocate for and support team members during the development of the unit and will work towards sustainability of programming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· This position represents and serves as the main contact for the Peer Support Team in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties.
· Serves as a liaison between the Department of Children & Families, the recovery community, the addiction treatment system, the medical treatment system, and the individual’s community, family, and social context to facilitate connections across systems of care.
· Provide program overview and referral process directly to the Substance-Exposed Newborn (SEN) Unit at the Department of Children & Families.
· Work with team in partnership with the community to implement and promote recovery-oriented initiatives.
· Model recovery principles for both peer and nonpeer staff.
· Conduct active outreach efforts to encourage attendance and participation in recovery oriented, self-help, and pro-social groups.
· Build and maintain resource and service provider contacts, expanding connections in known gaps for services.
· Assists with access to treatment for SUD and co-occurring conditions, creating systems and procedures to rapidly identify treatment needs and determine appropriate level of care.
· Works collaboratively with team to ensure that evidence-based services are utilized with individuals with SUD
· Ensure that the Family Assessment Specialist and Peer Specialists understand and maintain healthy boundaries and ethical guidelines that are appropriate for peer support work.
· When applicable, responsible for facilitating training and other needed requirements for staff seeking certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist.
· Responsible for data collection for quality assurance, program evaluation, and reporting to funding agencies.
· Ability to safely & successfully perform essential job duties consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
· Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
· Ability to comply with all personnel policies and procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related human services field.
· Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of, and belief in, the addiction recovery process.
· Candidate must demonstrate cultural and linguistic competence and sensitivity to population served.
· Minimum of three years’ experience in the child welfare system.
· Experience supervising or prior leadership role in the social services field.
PREFERRED:
Current resident of Orange, Osceola, or Seminole County preferred.
· A person with lived recovery experience, with a minimum 2 years of continuous recovery.
· Registered with the Florida Certification Board as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist OR meets the qualifications to become certified.
· Lived experience in the child welfare system.
· Certified as a Child Welfare Professional.
· Bilingual (Spanish and/or Haitian/Creole)

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
· Thorough Background Screening upon hire including FBI, FDLE, Local Law check, Employment Reference check, DMV check, Criminal Records check, Social Security Trace & Drug Screening. FDLE check will be run at least every 5 years.
· On-call assignments- Yes
· Travel- local: 50% per week, long-distance: 1% per month
· Attend at least 15 hours of in-service training annually
