Position Summary

The MS/Telemetry RN provides comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients requiring medical-surgical, telemetry, and progressive care services. This high-acuity mixed unit requires nurses who can independently care for patients with complex medical conditions while utilizing strong cardiac monitoring and critical thinking skills.

The successful candidate will be experienced in managing high patient acuity with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and will collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to provide exceptional patient-centered care.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and promptly respond to changes in patient condition.
• Manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, and respiratory support.
• Administer medications safely, including heparin protocols and non-titrated cardiac drips.
• Care for patients with central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, ports, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and surgical drains.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code situations.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, social services, and other interdisciplinary teams.
• Float to appropriate inpatient units, ED holding, Women's Center, or ICU (within competency) as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active Florida RN License or Compact RN License
• Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Telemetry experience
• Strong Telemetry experience required
• Experience caring for 1:6 patient ratios (1:5 PCU experience may be considered if clearly documented)
• Current AHA BLS Certification
• Current AHA ACLS Certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
• Rapid Response Team experience
• Total Joint Replacement patient care experience
• Meditech charting experience
• Ability to float within scope of practice

Schedule & Assignment Expectations

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No block scheduling
• Floating required based on patient census and staffing needs
• No requested time off during the first or last week of the assignment
