We are building a portfolio of web and mobile applications, as well as modernizing existing applications so that we can deliver software the business needs with speed, while maintaining and strengthening quality and security. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Technology Manager in Digital Engineering to spearhead our digital transformation initiatives across the Commerce Enablement Portfolio. This pivotal position is geared towards elevating our digital prowess to power our cart, checkout, and order experiences, enhance customer engagement, and ignite revenue growth through effective commerce enablement strategies. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a robust background in digital technologies and a proven track record of managing high-performing engineering teams. You will be tasked with leading the design, development, and implementation of innovative software solutions that align with our strategic objectives, while fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and integration of technology solutions that influence key business metrics.
- Manage talent acquisition, training, and retention, ensuring high expertise and commitment across teams.
- Facilitate collaboration with leaders across various disciplines to form teams that deliver reliable and high-quality software, supporting both strategic planning and execution.
- Demonstrate leadership that empowers teams to achieve exceptional quality and performance in project delivery.
- Direct and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear objectives, evaluate performance, and provide coaching and support to enhance team capabilities and drive professional growth.
- Champion the adoption of agile methodologies and a DevOps culture within the team to improve productivity and project outcomes.
- Integrate security practices throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure the robustness and security of applications.
- Proactively manage engineering health metrics to maintain optimal team performance and quickly resolve issues.
- Maintain responsibility for project prioritization and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Regularly engages in one-on-one career development discussions with direct reports, actively identifying and facilitating access to development opportunities within SGWS to support professional growth.
- Demonstrates expertise in continuous performance management by providing timely, effective, and actionable feedback, aimed at enhancing team performance and individual career progression.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Align digital engineering strategies with overall business objectives to maximize their impact on commerce enablement initiatives and portfolio expansion.
- Drive technology innovation that supports the company's strategic goals and positions the company as a leader in the industry.
- Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies that can create competitive advantages and improve operational efficiencies.
- Builds strong partnerships with other departments to align digital initiatives with broader business strategies, ensuring cohesive progress towards the company's long-term goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in key business priority enablement through technology delivery and support, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role managing diverse talent across multiple locations.
- Experience leading engineering teams focused on modern web and mobile technology and architecture.
- Proficiency in cloud-first management, with a strong emphasis on data governance and security.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex delivery initiatives in fast-paced, global organizations; preference for experience in beverage distribution or similar sectors with a blended and distributed workforce.
- Proven track record in building & sustaining high performing team capable of driving technical modernization efforts in parallel to delivering on business commitments.
- Strong track record of managing external vendors and service providers.
- Experience driving adoption of technology through education, training, and other organizational change management strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing multiple frontend and full stack development teams that support B2B / B2C applications.
- Experience in application development and support of web/mobile/cloud applications on an enterprise scale, online platforms.
- Experience in modern software development frameworks and languages including React Native, React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST, GraphQL and practical knowledge of Docker and containerization techniques.
- Experience in deploying scalable, high-performance applications using React for web and React Native for mobile platforms, ensuring excellent user experience and robust backend integration.
- In-depth knowledge of module federation and micro-frontend architecture to enhance modularity and scalability in mobile and web applications.
- Experience in developing and maintaining comprehensive design systems and pattern libraries to ensure consistency and high-quality user interfaces across platforms.
