Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Staff Accountant to join a finance team in Tampa, FL. This is a Temp-to-Hire position with a direct path to permanent employment for a high-performing candidate.

In this role, you will play a key part in the month-end closing process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and daily general ledger accounting. The ideal candidate possesses a foundation in GAAP principles, advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, and hands-on experience working with enterprise ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger & Month-End Close: Prepare and record journal entries, assist with month-end and year-end close processes, and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP.

• Account Reconciliations: Perform balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and intercompany account schedules. Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly.

• ERP System Operations: Utilize enterprise ERP software to manage financial records, extract ledger data, process journal entries, and support general accounting workflows.

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare routine financial reports, perform variance analysis on general ledger accounts, and present findings to accounting management.

• Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Support: Assist AR/AP teams with complex adjustments, accruals, fixed asset tracking, and audit documentation support as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Experience: 3+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or mid-to-large business environment.
