OPS Human Resource Assistant

PERSONNEL
- Develops, prepares, and posts all TEAMS job requisitions, places job advertisements for all open positions, and initiates position hire in Careers at UF, and maintains applicant file through Careers at UF system. Responds to and provides information for all job inquiries.
- Processes all detailed appointment forms and paperwork for new employees and verifies job and education references.
- Initiates and processes all ePAFs for hires, terminations, job changes, salary increases, etc.
- Initiates all hire paperwork for graduate assistants, OPS, and OPS faculty, maintains semester Letter of Appointment for graduate assistants.
- Coordinates and initiates all foreign national paperwork for visa requests and employment, working with UF International Office and UF Tax Office. Also coordinates all requests for visa status change (H1-B or Permanent Residency status) and monitors monthly visa status report for pending expirations.
- Responds to all inquiries and references for outside employment verifications.
- Prepares computer formatted position descriptions and processes updates/changes as necessary.
- Maintain current record information for all Family, Youth and Community Sciences (FYCS) employees, employee listings, account distributions, personal information file, classifications, employee photo file.
- Directs personnel to the benefits office for processes or questions regarding benefits programs.
- Inputs and updates Health Assessment Management Systems (HAMS) records.
OTHER DUTIES
1. Assists Accounting Specialist with input of on-line payroll distributions in distribution module and maintain distributions on faculty excel shadow worksheets.
2. Assists as needed to process expense requests in online system and related procurement card transactions.
3. Assists in making online purchases via UF Marketplace
Part-time, 20 hrs/wk. Days and hours negotiable.
Expected Salary:commensurate on qualifications and experience.
Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent and three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of PeopleSoft. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments within time constraints. Ability to be self-directed and proactive in planning and implementing information programs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of Microsoft software products.
