Construction Accountant

We have nine offices, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Charlotte, Cleveland, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Houston, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC., and specialize in new construction, renovations, and adaptive reuse projects. Rycon's portfolio consists of projects and developments in health care, educational (K-12 & higher ed), industrial/warehouse, commercial, multi-unit residential, retail, financial, food service/dining, governmental, hospitality, cannabis, self-storage, and LEED facilities. We excel in preconstruction planning, MEP expertise, with experienced project team members focused on the multiple markets we serve. We also have an in-house Architectural Woodwork & Specialty Fabrication Division that ships/installs nationally.

We are seeking an experienced construction accountant based in our Fort Myers office.

What you will do:

· Overseeing and managing Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll departments.

· Running job cost meetings quarterly with personnel from various offices.

· Performing account reconciliations.

· Maintaining the Work in Progress Schedule.

· Creating and entering journal entries to the general ledger.

· Creating financial statements.

· Performing tax preparation - payroll taxes, business privilege tax, etc.

· Work with various auditors – year end audit/payroll audits, sales and use tax audit, etc.

· Participate in meetings with senior executives.

What you will need to be successful:

· Five (5) or more years of proven accounting experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

· Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals.

· Knowledge of construction industry preferred but not required.

· Computer skills required – Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel – Advanced Proficiency in Excel is a must ), working knowledge of computerized accounting systems (familiarity with COINS OA is a plus).

· Detail oriented and highly organized.

· Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks

· Ability to work well with others and manage teams of individuals.

· Ability to handle confidential information.
