Dining Supervisor

About the Role

The Dining Supervisor is responsible for all activities and staff in the Dining Services Department under the direction of the Director, Restaurant & Hospitality. This role ensures quality service delivery during meal service, compliance with special diets, and excellent communication with Distinctive Living.

You will lead by example in providing a warm, welcoming, and efficient dining experience for our residents, while mentoring and supervising team members to maintain high standards of hospitality and safety.

Essential Functions

• Develops a positive customer service culture in the dining room through training and coaching staff.
• Evaluates and improves service systems to balance quality and efficiency during meal delivery.
• Ensures residents enjoy an exceptional dining experience by actively engaging in the dining room.
• Screens, interviews, hires, trains, manages, and evaluates dining staff.
• Creates and manages staff schedules while maintaining labor budgets.
• Maintains cleanliness of dining areas, equipment, and linens.
• Ensures safety compliance and supports workplace injury management processes.
• Fosters teamwork, shows initiative, and contributes positively to co-workers, residents, and visitors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Minimum 3 years' experience in food service preferred.
• Must be available for weekends
• Previous management/supervisory experience required.
• Current ServSafe Certification and any required local/state food handling or sanitation licenses.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and motivate a team.
• Must meet all health requirements, including TB, and pass a background check.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Self-motivated, can work independently and make decisions.
• Excellent organizational skills; detail oriented.
