About The Role

Peraton requires a Network Engineer to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3. This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

Under the direction of the Sr. Network Engineer, the Network Engineer performs Tier three network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. The Network Engineer must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software. Must have extensive experience in areas such as network design and implementation, LAN/WAN interfacing, security, Internet protocols and TCP/IP, as well as server and network infrastructure is required . This position tests and analyzes elements of network facilities, including power, software, security features, communications devices, communications lines, modems, and terminals and is responsible for the overall integration of the enterprise network. The Network Engineer is also responsible for planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the network. This position monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources by using software and hardware tools, as well as by identifying and diagnosing complex problems and factors affecting network performance. The Engineer must keep their technical skills updated and studies vendor products to determine those which best meet the Government’s needs. This position provides guidance and direction for junior network support technicians.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Providing comprehensive systems and network engineering and architectural planning services.

• Interfacing with O&M personnel by providing strategic design and support to projects as directed.

• Comprehensively reviewing existing architectures on a regular basis, recommending, and assisting with the design and implementation of systems and network improvements as required .

• Supporting efforts for cybersecurity technology, risks identification and risk mitigation strategies related to cybersecurity.

• Maintaining LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures, voice and data network systems, advanced engineering, and administration of multi-protocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.

• Providing support with Wireless networking, Application delivery networking, Cloud computing, Mobile computing, End Point management, and desktop computing Providing Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) or other NSA Capabilities

• Engineering enterprise data, voice, and video networks

• Establishing and operating network test facilities

• Maintaining a secure transfer of data to multiple locations via internal and external networks

• Working with vendors, the Government, carriers, and technical staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management

• Providing high-level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, bridges, and routers

• Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Min 12 years with HS Diploma, 10 years with AS/AA degree, 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, or 3 years with PHD 
• DoDD 01-M IAT II
• CCNA Certification
• At least a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI
• Have a demonstrated ability to communicate exceptionally well both orally and in writing, as well as have a positive customer service attitude.  
• Strong proactive team player

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
