Hours : M-F 8:30am-5:30pm, alternating Saturdays (4hrs) 

 Some holidays - no OT

Candidates must be capable of heavy lifting. Collecting biohazard bins throughout the complex is a daily duty. They are sometimes very heavy and get stacked 3 high before being rolled out to the garage. 

Job Description:

FL-DOH-JAX-Office Support Workers - Very physical position, not clerical 

Position: Pay Rate: $13.00 -$14.00/hr

DRESS CODE: Business Casual, Jeans on Fridays 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Medical Lab Office Building Triage Department, DOH provides PPE, On-site training provided by DOH 

DRIVING REQURIEMENTS : Mail must be taken to the post office daily. This tasks is normally performed by the DOH FTE, but candidate may be asked to complete. Post office is 2 miles from work location. CANDIDATE MUST HAVE CLEAR MVR. 

CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Opening, documenting and sorting biological samples received in the laboratory

* Delivers freight, supplies, mail and specimens within the building

* Bio-medical waste pick-up and delivery of waste receptacles along with corresponding documentation

* Takes afternoon department mail to post office at end of shift

* Performs daily procedures and operations of the mail room (sorting, delivering and processing) mail within the department complex

* Maintains cleanliness and organization of all units and work areas

* Maintains inventory in the department

* Other tasks may be answering phone calls, scanning and filing

CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

* Must have a high school diploma

* Ability to lift 50+ lbs

* Ability to stand for long periods of time

* Attention to detail
