Duties and Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for using established guidelines and procedures to assist internal and external customer requests for information related to driver licenses and history records. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for researching and responding to information requests using various sources, such as Motorist Maintenance, CCIS, etc. This position willalso be responsible for updating information to the Florida driver record.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic office procedures.
  • Ability to review information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Skill in using Comprehensive Case Information System (CCIS), DL Maintenance, Internet Records Information System (IRIS), Motorist Maintenance (MM) and Customer Service Center (CSC) Expert System.
  • Ability to be detailed oriented.
  • Ability to organize and maintain filing systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Skill in researching and verifying information.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply, state and federal motor vehicle laws and DHSMV operations, policies and procedures.
  • Skill in providing customer seivice to diverse clients in a tactful, courteous and non-judgmental manner.
  • Ability to work well independently.
  • Skill in operating office equipment such as a personal computer, mult line telephone, printer, scanner, fax machine.



Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

  • Preference will be given to applicants who have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, experience
    providing customer service to internal and external customers.

 

General Information

  • The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.
  • Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.
  • FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
